Christine Freeham's Dark Legend Review

Hello Readers,

Another sunny day here in Helensbrugh, its a lot hotter today than its been since Ian and me moved here. We are certainly enjoying the Sun but we have to remind ourselves to be sun safe. I think the sunny weather is preparing us for our trip to LA this year. I have to say I can't wait to go, there is going to be so much mayhem and fun we are going to have.

Its me...I'm rather random if you haven't noticed.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dark-Legend-Number-Carpathian/dp/074993767X/ref=cm_rdp_product

So today I'm posting the review I did of Christine Freeham's 8th Dark Hunter book. Its a really good book and I can't wait to share it with you.

Blurb:

For two thousand years Carpathian twins Gabriel and Lucian were vampire hunters. But then, Lucian turned vampire, forcing Gabriel to hunt him. Lucian and Gabriel battled each other for centuries until two hundred years ago, when Gabriel sacrificed his freedom, trapping Lucian and himself in the earth of a Parisian cemetery. Now, modern construction work within the cemetery has disturbed their resting place and Gabriel and his dark brother Lucian are raised from the rubble. Weakened and in desperate need of blood, Gabriel fears he will lose his own soul before he can restore his strength. Fate is on his side when Francesca, a uniquely gifted healer, comes to his aid. Gabriel instantly recognises that she is his lifemate, and must convince Francesca before it is too late: Lucian is on their trail, and will let nothing stand in the way of his eternal conflict with his brother.

Review:

From the beginning Christine has been able to capture the details and her latest characters well as she renewed the magic of her compathian world with ease. She took us through an emotional journey revealing Gabriel's new family as she went. The love between the twins was enough to warm my heart and will do the same for you. She creates a world of endless hope and despite need for those you love in your life.

From the beginning the heat levels rose fast, far more rapidly and each time the couple came together it was intense yet strangely demanding. I enjoyed the throws of their emotions without it being to much. She has come out with a great story to join her other well developed stories all ready. The more she progresses with this book, the more Christine creates a stronger, more realistic world. Well earned 5/5 stars

Thank you all for stopping by today to check out the blog and to read the latest review that I had managed to sneak into my writing time. I have enjoyed being able to do this and spend some of my morning with you all. I look forward to sharing more updates and reviews with you soon,

Sheri Velarde Book Reviews Day

Hello Readers,

In the warm sun of Helensburgh I was able to give Sheri Velarde her own review day. Two of her latest releases are showcased here on the blog for you all to read. Your going to enjoy the thrilling reviews and tit bits from these great short Novellas that she has created here for us.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Curse-Blood-Weekend-Getaways-Book-ebook/dp/B00R8P7JOK/ref=cm_rdp_productI was glad to have the chance to do this as I was working with her recently on one of her release days. I have to say I loved her enthusiasm and the way she couldn't get enough of real character based stories. That is what makes her an amazing author.

Now I will pause my gushing over her so that you can check out the reviews and the great treasures I discovered in my kindle. :D

First up is the "Curse of The Blood"

Blurb

After serving his king during time of war, all Melvil wants to do is get back to his family estate in the French countryside. Weary and homesick, he doesn’t even stop at night to rest in his eagerness to see his family. On the side of the road in the middle of nowhere he finds a lost and disoriented woman all alone. The chivalry he has lived by insists he must stop for her, even if everything else tells him something is wrong and he should run.

That night, that moment, changed everything for Melvil. If only lightning had not illuminated the sky, everything would be different. One act of kindness dooms him to a life that he never wanted. How can he live with himself now? And what can he do about the creature who made him? The woman he loathes and lusts after at the same time?

Review
I started this book off the high that her other work gave me. I soon found myself inthralled in the book's detailed storyline. For a short novella I had to say that its been more than a pleasure to read it. I could tell that it was a great start to a wonderful story, one which will take any Paranormal reader through a whirlwind experience. The characters were detailed and were well thought out. I was sure that the story was going to have a different ending to the one I found.

Sheri has become the queen of short Novellas for me. I enjoyed every second of it and it certainly made my day when I read what she had created with a great deal of focus. I firmly believe that I will be reading a lot more of Sheri's works in the future. She is the prefect bed time read to get those steamy dreams. I admire this writer a great deal and I hope that she continues on this storyline thread. I would like to see how Mervil will develop as a new vampire. I also wonder if he has the chance to become a vampire who slays other vampires.

Grab this one and be filled with a mouth watering need for more. A well earned 5/5 stars

To wrap this up we have "Lost Souls"

Blurb:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lost-Souls-Weekend-Getaway-Book-ebook/dp/B00PYZ0ZD8/ref=cm_rdp_productAmy is a fallen angel living life on earth as a rock star, embracing her bad behavior and becoming a heavy metal goddess. With the excesses of her new career she almost feels happy. Almost. However something her old friend Aphrodite once promised her is still missing, love.

Jade is a sweet and sexy woman, trying to make a place for herself in this lonely world. Lost in Los Angeles and just looking for a somewhere she belongs. As the holidays approach she only realizes how alone she truly is in the unforgiving city of Lost Souls.

One night these two meet seemingly out of the blue and sparks fly. It is as if something is drawing them towards each other. Now they both are learning what true happiness can feel like, if only some secrets don’t rip them apart before their love even has a chance to bloom.

Review:

From the opening these dare you to not be enchanted and whisked up in the thrilling, yet so hot a story it almost melted my IPad. From start to finish Amy and Jade give you a epic short story to be remembered. The passion of their first moments together equaled in with an appearance of a God will have you giggling, tingling and loving the thrill of every scene. This was a no brainer 5/5 for me. It's so easy to read the pages just fly in. Perfect for the commute or your lunch break.

Thank you all for stopping by and I hope that you enjoyed this blog telling you all about the great books that you have seen here. I hope that those "one-click fingers" are hard at work. I will be back with you all again very shortly.

Double Review!!!

Hello Readers,

I'm pausing in my intense writing sessions of my book "The War: Dragon" to do some promotion with a friend and I'm also making sure to share this review of a fairly new author. I don't normally read such short novels however today I did and I also got a free book the other day!

Yes so thank you to Oliva for that.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Haunted-Academy-Derek-Muk-ebook/dp/B00RG09062/ref=cm_rdp_product
Lets get into "The Haunted Academy" by Derek Muk.

An easy 5 star review!

Blurb:

Professor Albert Taylor and his assistant, Jan, are paranormal investigators. They are hired to investigate spooky, mysterious goings-on at an exclusive all-girls school after a young student is murdered. What they assume will be a routine ghost haunting turns out to be something much more.

Review:

From the beginning the author draws people into the characters who have all interesting and detailed backgrounds. He works hard to deliver a story that has suspense and passion. For a short read I enjoyed the story and how he left it so that the story could be continued if he and his readers wished too. I thought it held a great flow and was so easy to read. I highly recommend this author to those looking for something to sink their teeth into but don't have a lot of time.

Thank you for stopping by to check out this awesome new author. Remember to subscribe to the blog if you want to catch up on all my reviews. I will have more coming in the next few weeks as I write during the day and read at bedtime. So enjoy your wonderful spring and make sure you keep up to date with this slightly crazy Scottish author's reviews.

Tangents- Agatha Rae- 4 Star Review

Hello Readers,

So I'm battling ants and I'm meaning in real life ones. The wonders of now living in a seaside town. I'm more than delighted to have had so much sun and with sun comes a catch to write in it. I have managed to do that and read. So I'm as happy as a writer/author can be.

Soon I'll be returning to write for Vince Russo to which I'm excited. The man is more than just an ideal. He's a true mentor if nothing else.

Now onto todays review.

4 Star Review- Blurb

Rick is a successful writer living in New York City. Anna has just lost her job as a college teacher in Boston. Dan is a frustrated insurance agent from London, and Matylda is a Polish girl scout getting ready to settle in Madrid. One day, they fall asleep and when they wake up in the middle of some mysterious woods, they have only one thing in common – they all want to return home.

Review:

There is something utterly strange in this book. I have found the characters well defined and each go through a dramatic series of lives that allow us the reader to bond with them. I have enjoyed the way that author has taken them from all walks of life and made sure they share all the series.

I'm not a huge fan of the genre, however it was done extremely well and its the best presentation I have seen of this genre. I was able to read it was a good sign for me. I have to say that there is a great deal of talent laying behind this author's words and the author offers so much to those who venture into her realm.

I would recommend this book and its the sort of read that your going to need a lot of chocolate and a hot bath to enjoy.

Thank you for stopping by and I will have a review up for one of Christine Freeham's books shortly. I hope that you will come back again to see what I'm writing or reading, even if its just for the adventures I present here.

Megan Duncan's Devour 5 star Review (It's A KNOCK OUT)

Dear Readers,

Well I have to say that I was up late last night. No not writing even though I'm doing hundreds of that lately. I've just finished for now the series by Megan Duncan. The fact she got me to finish the series is amazing. (Yes I'm bad).

Megan Duncan has become one of my new favorite authors in the world. I have to say I can't wait until I get my teeth into what she creates next. I have her next series downloaded. I want to warn you, if you start reading Megan Duncan then please remember that she is addictive and you will not be able to stop yourself from sinking into the depths of each of her books.

Blurb:

As Claire descended deep into the ancient tomb; laying to rest the bodies of the fallen, she wondered if time healed all wounds, would an eternity be long enough? Still recovering from a brutal attack that nearly killed her, she refused to let evil win. Pain and destruction glared at her everywhere she went. Nothing and no one would ever be safe until Baal was not only defeated, but destroyed. Fueled by her thirst for revenge, she traveled with her father to the ‘old world’, seeking the aide of a long forgotten ally. Will their quest for help lead to their salvation, or is it only the first step in their annihilation?

Review:

I wasn't sure that I could be blown away from the semi final of this great series. There was moments when I thought I was going to cry. (Very few books have done that for me.) I found myself committed to Claire and Attrick. It would be nice to see their relationship develop more.

Megan came back swinging in this book and she knocked me out with the intense storyline. WOW the emotions pack a punch unlike anything I have read before. I want to congratulate her on that. Its very hard to do that and tie up a series the way she did. I'm more than relieved to know that there is a fourth book to this ever growing series.

I don't normally buy books for family, however I will be getting this series in print for my sister in law because its the book that will have her falling in love all over again. Its better than Twilight in my mind. I have read so many books that have vampires in it however, Megan just blows the rest of them out of the water and says "well?".

This author should be a household name and I'm honored to have read this series. I can't wait until I sink my teeth into her other work. I will drain them all of magic that she puts into them.

Congratulations on a knock out book.

Thank you for being awesome readers and I hope that you have enjoyed the book reviews. I hope to be doing more very soon. If you are on my friends list and a author then please chat to me if you need a book reviewed.

Elizabeth St.John's Blood Thirsty Review (5 Seriously Hot Stars)

Hello Readers,

I have had one of those weeks that you can't believe it happened and its only Tuesday. Well I had one gem so far in my busy week of moving house, being admitted to hospital and rushing around like a headless chicken.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Blood-Thirsty-Vol-1-Elizabeth-St-John-ebook/dp/B00S88YOHG/ref=cm_rdp_productI attend and took part in Elizabeth St John's release party "Animal Attraction" where I bought a copy of said book, one a copy of it and managed to gain a free copy of "Blood Thirsty". Its the latter book I'm presenting to you as a book review.

I hope that you will find the book just as hot, spicy and wonderful as me.

Blurb:

Willow is haunted by the ghost of her past lover Samuel. She is summoned back to Maine by her maker Esmeralda. Willow meets a handsome vampire named Caleb and a romance blossoms between them but there is something strange about him. He has something or someone inside trying to break free. Can Willow break away from her past? Or will she be haunted forever?

Review: "Sexy, Dangerous and Bite Sized"- 5 stars

As a beginning of what I can tell will be an epic story, this author drags us into a world of vampires, ghosts and body hoppers. Elizabeth St.John delighted my taste buds with the in depth story that she put together. In a bad time of her life she has unlocked a powerful series that will have many a reader gossiping in canteens, on coffee breaks and lunch times.

This series deserves a second part and am more than honored to have had the chance to read this amazing installment. Its a must read to you all.

Check in again to see what else I'm writing about or book I have sank my teeth into.

Another Megan Duncan Book Is Served A 5 Star Rating

Dear Readers,

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Indulge-Paranormal-Romance-Delicacy-Series-ebook/dp/B006M7J97A/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

It could be the time I have spent in hospital lately or the fact I just moved house. I might be to focused on food at this moment in time. I think that is why I decided to use the phrase "served up" this week on my blog site.

So I have discovered this new author and to be honest when I start reading books of the Paranormal nature I'm always worried they are going to be either wannabe Twilight books or they are going to be the mismatch of True Bloods creation, however it seems there is a few authors out there who surprise me.

Sherrilyn Kenyon, Rachel Caine, Sara Humphreys and the amazing Megan Duncan.

I'm not going to bore you with anymore of my thoughts on the genre itself, I'm going to dive head long into the wonderful review that I had the pleasure of writing Megan Duncan. I hope that people will love my own attempt at vampires later this year with the release of "The Vampire and The Wrestler", a sexy, comedy that involves a lot of magic.

5 Star Review

Most people can't make the follow up book to the first smash hit they release, however Megan Duncan outdoes herself. I was blown away with the detail, prefect pace and the talent of the author comes into play with the depths of her characters. She weaves a web that allows the reader to be sad when the book ends.

I find it hard to do reviews because you never want to focus on what the author needs to improve or could make better. This delightful find has in fact made me more than delighted to be able to write a review. There was nothing to improve or change. She did an amazing job from start to finish and I'm all ready watering at the mouth for book 3. I hope by the time I devour that one then I will be slipping into book 4. This series has been well underestimated and truly undiscovered.

This is a treat for your imagination and will have you thinking about it well after you have turned the last electronic page.

A must buy for the true lovers of Paranormal romance and for those who desire a book to read after Twilight.

In closing

It was sunny here today and I think I even got the problem to do with my next book solved. I am sure that your going to love it. I can't wait to show you what Joe E Legend and I have instore for you!
