Fatal Deception- Marie Force

The wife of the White House deputy chief of staff has been beaten to death, and their one-year-old daughter is missing. D.C. Police Lieutenant Sam Holland is in charge of the murder investigation, but she's forced to collaborate with Special Victims Unit detectives as well as thorn-in-her-side FBI Special Agent Avery Hill. Then, a cold case of her father's resurrects old hurts--a distraction Sam cannot afford.

As Sam's investigation heats up, so does Nick's political career--and the heat carries over to their bedroom. Will Sam put the pieces together in time to catch a killer and find the baby, or will ambition, greed and lies prove fatal?

5/5 Star Book Review

This was such a well-structured series that moved along the characters in perfect timing with each other even though I would like to see more Freddie's struggles with his life. It was nice to see that things were resolved between Sam and her father in regards to the secret he has carried on his shoulders for so long. It's great to see Jeannie come out of her shell.

The case itself was great and to see how high she was able to take down criminals. I enjoyed the threat of having an FBI southern in there that offered a threat element to the relationship of Nick and Sam. There was linger tension as this one closes.

It's great to see that Scotty the small boy who Nick befriended is now going to live with them. The adoption is starting and it's a great warm feel to the end of the series. It's nice to see Nick win his senator seat and for the possible dangers of his political career keeping going forward.

I couldn't get enough of this book and I read it constantly. I can't give it enough love and so grateful that the series is continuing on. There is an enough love from Marie Force that shows the characters will continue on in a good strong direction. I look forward to the Jeannie wedding. I'm delighted to see that none of them is forgotten.
